Insurance Consultation

Health Insurance

In Australia, overseas students and their dependents are required to have OSHC (Overseas Student Health Cover) health insurance. It is intended to reduce health-related costs, including those associated with prescription medication and emergency ambulance services. It should be mentioned that when pursuing formal education in the nation, health insurance must be obtained for the period of the student visa. In severe circumstances, the Australian government's Department of Immigration and Citizenship may cancel a visa for failure to get the necessary health insurance. The policies offered by the OSHC insurers vary in scope, spanning from basic health coverage to extensive services.

OVHC

It is a simple process to obtain OSHC, and payment is no issue as it can be setup for the date of arrival. Some of the biggest OSHC providers include Australian Health Management, Allianz Global Assistance, BUPA Australia, Medibank Private and Nib.

To apply online, simply choose your desired health provider and select 'apply for cover' on their website under OSHC. Make sure to answer all the question correctly, and add any dependents you have.

You do not need to pay for anything beyond the basic cover for your visa approval, however we recommend getting a good level of cover for your personal safety.
